POWER Online
A Virtual Movement Experience | Corporates | Charity Fundraisers | Worldwide
"If you are looking for a national or international teambuilder, a conference or a screen-break activity that is unique and accessible to all, I’d absolutely recommend POWER Online".
I asked Elaine to create a virtual movement experience for Bacardi primos (Spanish for cousin, as all Bacardi colleagues are called) as part of our Advanced Leadership Program, in Miami. I know Elaine’s in-person rides to be deeply-connecting, energetic and uplifting, and I wanted the team to have the chance to process all the great thinking they would be doing. I was curious to see how Elaine would recreate the inimitable POWER experience through a screen, via Zoom, without spinning bikes.
Based on my experience of POWER rides, I said to Elaine, “don’t do anything differently to what you already do”. I was confident that POWER would be ideal for the Program; to set our primos up for the day, and deliver that unique banana takeaway. I always come away from a POWER ride with a banana that I’ve written on, like a notepad, full of Elaine’s bikechat - relatable, insightful, and inspiring words. I wanted to our primos to have some time for their mental and physical health during a busy 10 day program.
In the lead up to the ‘ride’, in Miami, it was clear that Elaine has an extensive background in planning and delivering high-profile events. She was keen to understand Bacardi’s company values and the speaker line-up she’d be delivering her ‘ride’ alongside. Our communication, and the primos-facing materials Elaine supplied, demonstrated her passion for personalisation and brand. As did our co-ordination of a POWER-stickered banana for every ‘rider’, ready and waiting to be written on, in Miami.
All ‘riders’ required was the ability to connect via Zoom and, ideally, a pair of headphones. They chose their movement, inside or outside; some had their video on, showing us their views of Miami, others had their video off, as if they were listening to a podcast or playlist.
Elaine’s spontaneous playful interpretation of what she saw on-screen and read in the Zoom chat created a unique, connected, energetic, and empowering start to the day that had a lasting and powerful impression on the primos at Bacardi.
If you are looking for a national or international teambuilder, a conference or a screen-break activity that is unique and accessible to all, I’d absolutely recommend POWER Online.
